The McNairy Family Center is a 501c3 organization started to provide trauma informed services to the community. After being exposed to the ACE study we became convinced childhood toxic stress was indeed one of the root causes of many of our social and economic problems we face as a county. In our search for ways to reduce the widespread issue of substance abuse we think ACEs maybe the answer. Our efforts to treat addiction issues after the fact is expensive and somewhat ineffective and tends to repeat itself generation after generation. In many cases people turn to substances as a way to cope with what has happened to them in the past.  We believe by becoming trauma informed and working to prevent ACEs and helping those that have experienced toxic stress in their past we can break this cycle of abuse and become a stronger community. We invite you to become involved with the center as a volunteer, trainer, mentor, or donor.
